Biography:
The Shadow Guard were elite, Force-sensitive warriors serving the Sith Lord Darth Vader in the Star Wars expanded universe (Legends). Trained to protect high-value Sith targets, including Vader himself and key Sith facilities, they were formidable opponents.
They wore distinctive crimson armor similar in style to the Imperial Royal Guard, but with unique modifications including a helmet equipped with advanced sensors and a weapon system focused on lightsaber combat. They wielded force pikes powered by red Kyber crystals, allowing them to clash with lightsabers and channel Force energy.
Shadow Guards were chosen for their Force sensitivity and rigorously trained in various combat techniques, including lightsaber forms and the manipulation of Force powers. They were fiercely loyal to the Sith and willing to sacrifice themselves to protect their charges.
Although no longer considered canon since Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm, the Shadow Guard remain a popular design and concept amongst fans, appearing in various Star Wars video games, comics, and other media.
